Concluar H ing arguments in the "contempt case' H against President Samuel Gompers, M Vice President John Mitchell and H Frank Morrison, of the American H Federation of Labor, were made to- H day in the federal supreme court. H The court took under consideration H the question of affirming the decision H of the courts of the District of Colum- bin, which sentenced the accused to Jail. Arguments woro made by formor Judge Alton B. Parker and Jackson H. Ralston for the nccused and by J. J. Darlington, and Daniel Davenport against them. Mr. Davenport laid stress on the claim of Judge Parker that tho injunction injunc-tion against the "boycott" of tho Buck Stovo & Range company was a violation viola-tion of the freedom of 6poech. Then the attorney quoted from a decision de-cision rendered by Judgo Parker when he was at the hood of the New York court of appeals, in which ho said thoro was a difference between on-joining on-joining a libel and onjolnlng a publication publica-tion as a means of carrying on a conspiracy. |
