Show oo "HONEY BUG" MAKES A REQUEST Leonard Robertson, a negro, wns arraigned In tho district court this morning on the charge of robbery and the time for hearing his plea was set for next Thursday morning, . nt 10 o'clock. The prisoner stated thnt ho had no attorney to defend him and that he would like vory much to have Mr. Harris look after his Interests. The court remarked that ho would be fortunate indeed if Mr. Harris, the district attorney, would handle his case, but that in this particular Instance In-stance It is more than llkoly that the district attorney will look after the Interests of tho state. The information charges that Robertson, Rob-ertson, on January C, of this year, assaulted as-saulted one R. D. Ashton and robbed him of a watch, valued at $25 Tho defendant is known in the city as "Honey Bug" and his faco is quito familiar in polico circles. His depredations, de-predations, until recently, it is said by tho officers, havo been confined to petty affairs. It Is claimed by the ofllcers that "Honey Bug" has" confessed con-fessed to tho crime of which he stands charged, but It Is a quostion whether ho will plead guilty before tho court |
