Show MYSTERY ABOUT RESIKE FIRE A fire, the origin of which is a mystery to tho firemen, did $500 damage dam-age at the home of Joseph H Hor-rocks, Hor-rocks, 505 Twenty-fourth street, about 7 o'clock last evening The property Is owned by the Horrocks estate and the greatest damage resulted in the eastern portion of the residence, which portion is occupied by Mrs. Davis, a relative. The blaze originated in a lean-to kitchen but there was no fire about that portion of tho house during the afternoon and the firemen do not believe be-lieve that it was due to defective electrical wiring. The fire was not discovered until the kitchen was a mass of flames, which had also catch their way up to tho main portion of the house and Into the attic The department from No. 2 station nnd also tho fire chief's auto responded respond-ed to the alarm and tho flro was extinguished ex-tinguished but not before great damage dam-age had resulted. Much of Mrs Davis' furniture In the east three rooms was destroyed and will bo a total loss, as sho carried no insurance. insur-ance. This was the third fire alarm received re-ceived by the department yesterday, the first two bbing of littlo consequence. |
