Thursday the "Standpatters" Hij ' went over to tho Democrats and the combination is referred to as an fl entente cordialc. H i The Insurgents have been berated for doing that which the H t "Standpatters" now boast of as a clever political trick. M I The Democrats, in entertaining overtures from the "Standpat- fl'' ters" have been making a mistake. Thej' are playing poor poli- fl. tics. Tho regulars have but one motive and that is to estrange the H) Democrats and Insurgents and thereby restore themselves to power. H1. The Democrats will be left helpless, if the Insurgents break away H, and refuse to co-operate with them in legislative work. H Tho "Standpatters," in joining with the Democrats, have H: robbed themselves of the right to denounce the Insurgents for giv- H t ing comfort to the party of Jackson, Bryan and Woodrow Wilson. |
