Show SLOT MACHINES AGAIN SERVICE Salt Lake, July 5. Slot machines have again made tholr appearance In a number of down town cigar stores. While several of the larger stores, Including In-cluding those of the United Cigar Stores company, have not resumed the use of the machines, It Is understood that they will do so at an early date. In several cases saloons having cigar ci-gar stores in connection have Installed the machlnts, and the burr of the little lit-tle carded wheels may now be heard In many of the cigar stores of the business section of the city Tho owners claim that thr existing anti-gnmbllng statute is defective in Its application to what they term "trado machines." Briefly they claim that tho machines which pay awarda In cigars and other merchandise, do not como undtr the classification of gambling devices It is on this point that, at a later date they propose to test the constitutionality of the law County Attorney I.
