Show Board Awards I Bus Contract The Cache county school board has awarded a contract for servicing ser-vicing all district buses and approved ap-proved a program of renovation of district buildings during the summer, Superintendent J. W. Kirkbride reported today. The contract for servicing the buses, conducting all maintenance work and providing gasoline, oil and supplies, was awarded to the Cook Transportation company of Xogan. Tentative cost is expected to run 6 to 7 cents per mile, Mr. Kirkbride said. He explained that the buses originally were serviced by district dis-trict employes at North and South Cache high school shops. This program was discontinued because of interference with the instruction instruc-tion program and the shop teach-jers teach-jers work. The district will continue to provide drivers, insurance and will retain control of rouing, Mr. Kirkbride said. The district oper- ates more than 25 buses. The board approved all rcnova- ' Won work requested and assigned ' workers to tho, various projects. The work will be completed during dur-ing the summer months, mostly by custodian labor. An arrangement to provide transportation for students who attend summer kindergarten classes class-es was worked out by board mem-"bcrs, mem-"bcrs, who agreed to pay the costs of transportation incurred by private pri-vate automobile drivers. |
