Show BUS CHANGES CONTEMPLATED BY COUNTY Three major changes in the transportation system of the Cache county school district are now being be-ing considered and will be decided upon, with awarding of bus driver's driv-er's contracts, by the Cache county coun-ty school board at its next meeting meet-ing to be held in two weeks. The three proposed changes, in--volving a study of transportation .routes, together with contemplated .economies in transportation, will increase the service and efficiency of the system and will result in a .savings of approximately $4,000 to the district, according to Lloyd M. Theurer, clerk. By the use of the large busses now in operation, with the new ones recently purchased, (which have a seating capacity for 66 students,) the three changes would eliminate a bus route and driver from the present transportation . system. The proposed changes in routes are as follows: The first, placing of a large bus :in Cornish which would travel to a point three miles west of the Lewiston Bank corner, then one mile north, one mile east, and a mile south to the Third ward meeting house and in to school. Another large bus would leave the Third ward meeting house, travel west one mile, south two miles, east one mile, and return to the Third ward meeting house. Other routes in the Lewiston area would remain as established, but a larger bus would be placed on at least one of these routes. Trie second change proposes putting one of the new large buses in Clarkston, thereby eliminating one of the two buses -which have been originating at that place. ine tmru contemplates jjiacmg ; : a large bus in lower Benson, which Ttould operate from that section into upper Benson, thence to Smithfield. Junior high- and high school students who reside north and west of the river would be transported to the large bus by the Benson elementary school bus, thereby eliminating a route formerly form-erly operated from Bishop H. W. Ballard's residence to North Cache high school. These changes would also contemplate con-template the transferring of buses bus-es to different routes in order to adjust the load factors. |
