Show College Places Seven More In Defense Work Placement of seven trainees from the evening supplementary classes in the national defense training program at Utah State Agricultural college was announced announc-ed Monday by George D. Clyde, dean of the USAC school of engineering, en-gineering, industries and trades and administrator of defense training. train-ing. Those placed include Jay Arnell, Ricey Anderson, Harold Gatz and Frank Taylor, students j in the aircraft engines course, and Kay D. Sears, Ervin Greene 1 and Edward Burton, in aircraft communication. Sears, Greene and Burton have, joined the Alaska Communications system, a part of the Signal Corps of the ,'U. S. Army, while the aircraft engine mechanics have nlacement as a result of training received at the Ogden Air Depot. The men secured placement as a j result of training received in evening classes supplemental to their daily occupations, Dean Clyde said. They attended courses five hours per week on Monday and Thursday evenings. Meanwhile, Dean Clyde announced an-nounced that evening defense training courses are now available in machine shop, welding, aircraft engines, aircraft communications and pattern making classes. Requirements Re-quirements for entry into the training are United States citizenship citizen-ship and day employment in fields closely related to the occupation in which training is desired, he explained.
