Show Distribution Explained for New War Ration Books Schools Will Distribute Books Beginning Tuesday 'Procedure to obtain War Ration" Book 4, designed to last for the next two-year period, was outlined today by local OPA officials in charge of distribution. Applicants are urged to use the form provided on page 4 of this issue of the North Cache news and the appointed places. The book will be issued in Cache as follows: Distribution by the Smithfield board will be from Wednesday through Friday at the following places: Smithfield school, Hyde Park school, Newton school, Benson Ben-son school, Clarkston school, Richmond Rich-mond Park school and Trenton school. People in these localities should watch for announcement of time of distribution. Hyrum, Wellsville and Paradise-Avon Paradise-Avon residents, will register for their books on Wednesday, Thurs-and Thurs-and Friday, at schools in thes' communities. Hours will be announced an-nounced later. In Lewiston, books will be issued Wednesday through Friday at either the Junior high school or civic center. Exact place and time will be announced later. Applicants for' books are reminded remind-ed that they must present a copy of war ration book number three at the registration site in order to obtain book four. Members of the same family within cne household should apply on the same form, which may be signed and presented by any person whom the family appoints to aot for it. Applicants will not have to declare de-clare the cans of processed foods stored by the family when applying apply-ing for ration book four. The new book will be use.1 beginning be-ginning November 1 for processed foods, canned goods, and sugar, Green stamps A, B, and C (for processed foods and canned goods) will 'become valid November 1, and will remain valid through December Decem-ber 20, 1943. Blue stamps X, Y, and Z (for processed foods and canned goods) from Book Two are still valid and will remain so through November 20. Green stamps in Book Four will be used in exactly the same ay as the blue stamps in Book Two thi letters let-ters indicate the validity period, the numbers indicate the point values. On November 1, sugar stamp number 29 also becomes valid val-id and is good through January 15, 1944. Other stamps in War Ration Book Four will not be used until a later date. The stamps, in Book Four labeled "coffee" were printed before coffee rationing was discontinued. |
