Show Beet Harvest Work Resumes School Heads Announce Vacation Schedule Cache county and Logan city school officials today outlined plans for aiding farmers with harvesting of beet, potato and apple crops throughout the valley. Dr. E.- Allen Bateman reported that Logan Senior and Junior high school students will be excused ex-cused the first three days of next week providing the weather permits per-mits work in the fields. The elementary school students, who have been dismissed during the entire week, will return to class-work class-work Monday, however. He explained that after school reconvenes next Thurday for Junior and Senior students, that any boy or girl who is needed in the beet, apple or potato harvest, har-vest, can be excused providing they exhibit a statement of ne-"2ssity. ne-"2ssity. Kirkbride, superintendent of county schools, announced following fol-lowing a survey this morning, that beet work had been resumed in the north end of the county and would get underway tomorrow tomor-row in the south end, therefore the county school vacation would continue until November 1st as scheduled. "This storm has made it quite denfiite that additional harvest time will be needed," he declared "and we are planning to cooperate co-operate with the farmers to the fullest extend and allow students to work when they are needed." |
