Show 8,000 Arc Welders Needed in Ship Building Yards The United States Employment Service has been asked, to assist in the recruitment of 8,000 Arc Welders Weld-ers for shipyards, according to Mr. Curtis, manager of the lbcal office. A wire received by Mr. Curtis Monday night read, "Intensify recruitment re-cruitment Arc Welder Trainees. Urgent need. 8,000. Increas all vocational vo-cational training courses wherever possible in attempt to recruit these workers." Trainees with 100 hours of National Na-tional Defense training can qualify for this work. The USAC National Defense Training classes have room for 40 more persons in their present classes and if enough persons per-sons can be enrolled additional classes can be started. Mrs. Helen P. Too Hon entertained enter-tained the members of her Birthday Birth-day club in honor of the birthday birth-day anniversary of Mrs- J. E. Sheffer. Special guests were Mrs. H. W. Fern and Mrs. L. V. Tool-son. Tool-son. The afternoon was enjoyed playing bridge, high score prize being won by Mrs. F. W- Jarvis. Mrs. Sheffer receiving a gift.
