Show Marines Seek Auxiliaries And Reserves Captain Douglas G. Montell of the U. B. Marine corps arrived in Salt Lake City this week to interview inter-view .applicants for enlistment in the Marine Women's Reserve and to stimulate the enrollment of 17-year-old . high school students as officer candidates with a reserve status. Women from 20 to 36 with two years of high school or business college are being accepted as en-lsted' en-lsted' personnel in the Women's Reserve while applicants between 20 and 50 who have a college degree, de-gree, or two years of college and two years of business and professional profes-sional experience, are being considered con-sidered for commissioned grades. With a scheduled strength of 16,000 enlistment in the Women's reserve at this time, will assure those who are accepted a chance for rapid advancement. The leatherneck officer also plans to visit several state high schools . to explain the officer candidate can-didate program for 17-year-old students. Those enrolled, he explained, will be placed on inactive duty for an indefinite period to enable them to continue their schooling. |
