Dunn The Mothers' hearts all ache today, to-day, , Who sent their sons in the Guard away : There's a , lump in the throat, a tear in the eye-But eye-But it really doesn's help very much to cry. Cheer up, sad hearts and do not grieve, Both of my sons have had to leave And I'm dejected and alone With naught but mem?ries that I own. Lefs waste no time on morbid grief, In useful work we'll find relief, And trust in Uncle Sam and God 'To keep them safe on U.S. sod. Let's keep our home fires burning hope and pray That they will come safely home some day. Then we'll be proud as long as we live That we had such splendid sons to give. Ana the war Gods will never mar Our country with their horrid war. |
