Show Civil Service Examinations Announced Civil service examinations for the positions described below were announced by the United States Civil Service Commission today. Applications will be accepted accep-ted at the Commission's Washington Wash-ington office not later than tlie closing dates specified. The salar. ies are subject to a 3Vj percent retirement deduction. Labratory mechanic in fuel rating rat-ing from $1,620 to $2,000 a year, National Bureau of Standards, Department De-partment of Commerce. Responsible Responsi-ble experience in the operation testing, or maintenance of internal combustion engines including experience in rating fuels with, a CER engine is required. Applications Appli-cations must be filed not later than April 17, 1941. Meteorologist in any specialized branch, with salaries ranging from $2,600 to $5,600 a year. Seperate employment IMs will be set up in such specialized branches as climatology, dynamic meterology, and radiometeorgraphy. Completion Comple-tion of a four year college course with major study in meterology or a closely related subject is re- quired, as well as professional experience ex-perience in meterology.
