Show I FUNERALS I and I OBITUARIES i : ' Ellen Monson Skidmore Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Marinda Monson Skidmore, 71, sister sis-ter of Utah's secretary of state, were conducted today at 2 p.m. in the Preston, Idaho, First ward chapel. Mrs. Skidmore died at her home in Smithfield, Tuesday at 4:10 a. m. after a lingering illness. She was born in Richmond on November Novem-ber 14, 1871, a daughter of Christian and Ellen Monson. She was married to William A. Skidmore Skid-more on December 13, 1892 in the Logan temple. She lived in Richmond until 1900 when the family moved to Preston where she lived the major part of her life. In 1924 she and her husband moved to Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., where she was active in church work. In 1927 she moved to Brigham City and November of 1942 to Smithfield. She was an active ctiurchwork-er, ctiurchwork-er, and held many offices in auxiliary aux-iliary organizations. Survivors include her husband, a son and six daughters, Lorenzo Skidmore of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Armina Bright of Weston, Idaho; Mrs. Verna Merrill of Grace, Idaho; Ida-ho; Mrs. Leah Merrill of Spring Canyon, Mrs. Bertha Hobbs of Preston, Mrs. Aldyth Raymons of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Mar-val Mar-val Nelson of Smithfield; 26 grandchildren; two great gradn-children gradn-children and four brothers and seven sisters, Dr. E. E.. Monson, Utah secretary of State of Salt Lake City; Aaron Monson .of Preston, Mrs. Chesta Gilgen, Ray Monson and Mrs. Eliza Kerr of Ogden; Mrs. Annie Whitehead of Logan; Mrs. Eva Parkinson of Franklin, Idaho; Mrs. Rachel Allen of Cove, Mrs. Amanda Wright of Blackfoot, Idaho; Fred Monson of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mrs. Sarah Russell of Alberta, Canada. Burial will be in the Richmond cemetery under direction of Richards Rich-ards and Son mortuary of Preston. |
