Also elected were W. Clair Rowley Row-ley of Paroway, Iron county clerk and Mrs. Mae S. Graham of Man-ti, Man-ti, Sanpete county recorder, as vice presidents and Fred L. Peterson Peter-son of Brigham City, Box Elder county assessor, as secretary-treasurer. C. A. Grant of Provo, Utah county clerk, was retained as executive ex-ecutive secretary of the group. The association adopted a resolution reso-lution urging repeal of the state's existing welfare program as advocated ad-vocated by Governor Herbert B. May. The new plan would encourage encour-age many persons now on relief work to regain their independent status and also calls for even more generous grants to old age and disabled pensioners. Other legislative changes advocated advo-cated by the committee concern the issuing of marriage licenses by any county clerk to minor girls upon presentation of consent by tne girl's parents, lengthening of the county attorney's term of office of-fice from two to four years, allowing allow-ing persons temporarily living outside out-side Utah to keep their residence in a. voting district by registering at any time they are home and raising present limits on county tax ' levies. |
