Show Smithfield Fourth W ard Chapel Contract Let Contract to build the combined Smithfield stake tabernacle and Fourth ward chapel has been awarded to Stettler and Sona Construction company of Logan, subject to agreement on minor details, it was announced today by A. W. Chambers, president of Smithfield stake. The bid was $60,773. In a meeting held Monday with members of the presiding bishopric in Salt Lake City, the project was approved by the church and the stake building committee," declared President Chambers. The new chapel arid tabernacle is to be situated one block north, and one block east of (the Smith-field Smith-field bank, will be of brick, with a maximum seating capacity of more than 900 people. The chapel and recreation hall will be combined, with an automatic door making it possible for the two to be combined for stake occasions. Seating capacity for the chapel proper, which will be used by Smithfield Fourth ward, is 300 but the adjacent recreation hall will accommodate 550. There will be 16 classrooms, but by using the stage and recreation hall, twenty-four meeting places for groups can be arranged. A bishop's office, stake presidency pres-idency and high council rooms, baptismal fount and rest rooms are to be included. Finishing will be in hardwood, and roof of copper. cop-per. Reid Halverson, and Benny Ravsten, with Hazen Hill-yard Hill-yard as celrk and secretary; the bishopric of Smithfield Fourth yard as clerk and secretary; the McCann, Gerald J. Plowman and Thomas B.
