Show UNLOADED. At the meeting of the democratic territorial ter-ritorial central committee held last Saturday f.t Sau Lake, a convention was called to meet at Oden for the purpose of electing and sending delegates and alternates to the Criic igj national convention, con-vention, the Ogden convention to meet ilay 14 next, at 12 o'clock noon. Another An-other convention, the time to be deter, mined by the central committee, will be held at Provo to nominate a delegate to congress. Hut the most important and by far most praiseworthy work performed by the central committee was the "unloading" "unload-ing" of the liberal democrats over the side of tne ship and bidden to paddle their own canoe back to their Tuscarora camp. The braves were Powers of Salt Luke, Tarpey, Kerry of Summit, and i Glenn. These men originally were democrats, but notoriously in and out of season have they fought the democratic party in Utah and in the late municipal contest succeded in retaining Salt Lake in its present liberal grasp. For them to now come forward and say "I have a long record of service with them" aud demand recognition in the councils of our territorial central committee, com-mittee, looks something like Sitan's rebellion in the democratic camp above, and like the devil, Powers et al. were consigned to the bottomless pit where liyo and dwell the liberals and where these "democrats" can ?pout, it is better to reign in Salt Like than serve in Ogden." |
