Show CITY COUNCIL. City Council met in regular session acting Mayor Luke in the chair. . Roll call -present, Luke, Munk, Bessey, Reid, Cox and Anderson, Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved: ap-proved: Mr. Maylett was granted the floor and jumped on the council because of the action that body had taken on a petition of that gentleman which had been handed in three months ago. The petition peti-tion referred to asked the city council for 25 indemnity for damage done his premises by the men engaged in clearing out city creek, or that said premises he placed in a similar condition to what they were, The council referred the matter lo the attorney and from him to a committee, the committee repjrted that $7.00 would be enough to cover the damage, considering the benefitt Mr. Maylett had derived from the cleaning of the creek. Mr. Maylett was not satisfied sat-isfied with this, he wanted $25 or have the premises placed in a similar condition condi-tion to what they formerly were. He asked that before and asked it now. Bessey moved that the matter be laid over for further consideration during the evening. Carried. Petition of citizens committee o' Columbus day asking that the council appropriate $7 50 to aid in paying ex" penses of the Columbus celebration was not granted as an appropriation of that kind was not in conformity with the statuies of Manti city. Luke presented a verbal petition from Mr. Forbush stating that some pe'son, who was not a member of his family had been buried in his lot in the cemetrey and asking that the body be removed. The sexton was present and explained the case, he stated the grave was there t.f Mr t?..,i, t.;.ali ,v.& but he did not know who It was. Mr, Forbush wanted it removed so that his lot might be reserved for his family alone. Moved and seconded that the matter be iaid over for lurfher con. sideration. Carried. Councilor Anderson reported that he had been to the premises of Mr Larsen as directed by the council and found tha1 there were about forty yards of sidewalk- that needed rebuilding and protecting. pro-tecting. Recommended that $30 be ap propiialed to pay Mr. Larson for fixing said sidewalk. ' Moved and seconded that the report be accepted and recom-mendation recom-mendation be adopted. Carried. The watei-master reported that he had visited all the water-masters and they bad agreed to see each person on (he several ditches, and have them cleared. He also reported that there were two bridges one near Keller's resi" dence and one near John Bench's that should be fixed, and recommend that the faid bridges be repaired. Munk mosedlliat the report be accepted and recommendation be adopted. The biidges are to be repaired under direction direc-tion of the supervisor.
