Show Price Telegraph, Marsh 10th: The committee who ware appointed to audi1 the books of Treasurer C. G. Larsen found him short $1500.10. There are two suppositions entertained by the people who are acquainted with the ex-treasurer, ex-treasurer, viz: First that he never received re-ceived the money he receipted for; second, that other persons had access to the safe, and he knew the combination where the funds were kept. We know very little concerning the merits of the case, but from our acquaintance with the gentleman, knowing as we do that Mr. Larsen does not pretend to understand under-stand bookkeeping we would certtinly say that in our opinion some one took advantage of M: Mr. Larson's knowledge of bookkeepiug and relieved him of that amount of cash We say this based npon our knowledge of what wi believe to have been his sur roundlngs. No one who is acqusiated with the gentleman doubts that he is a viciim of chicanery. -m |
