Show Society Notes Pierian Club Miss Jaunita Miller was hostess to the Pierian club given at her home Monday evening, November 22. The program of the evening consisted of "The First Thanksgiving," by Mrs. Otto Steenbock and also another topic i on Thanksgiving read by Mrs. Foster i Dewey. Current events were given by Mrs. D. A. Baxter. A very jnter-' jnter-' esting English lesson was also given, after which Miss Miller gave a beuti-ful beuti-ful vocal selection. After the close of the program, sumptuous refresh-'! refresh-'! ments were served to the following ! members and guests: Mesdames Bowman, Bow-man, Dewey, Baxter, Steenbock, Litchfield, Markham, Wilson, A. E. Smith, Nebeker, Calloway, Young, Lee Smithson, Mary Roper and Mrs. John Pitchforth. '. National Vice-President of P. B. & W. Clubs Will Visit Milford Miss Elizabeth Fitzgerald, first national vice-president of the B. P. W. clubs, will visit Milford on Dec. 4th. A reception and banquet is being arranged for that date. Miss Fitzgerald is a wonderful speaker and is known throughout the nation for her work in educational matter. The Milford B. P. W. club are.sending out invitations to all the ladies of Milford who are In business or professional pro-fessional work whether they belong to the local club or not, as her presence pres-ence and talk will inspire every woman along 'any line of work on to higher aims and show them the joy and pleasure to be gained in their labors. Those wishing to accept the invitation to the reception and banquet ban-quet will please notify Mrs. Raines or Miss Vera McCallister on or before Wednesday, December 2nd. The Ladies Aid Society will meet at the home of Mrs. W. F. Cotterell December 2nd, at 2:30 p. m., for a short business session. All members are requested to be present so that a full report of the years work may I,e reported. "Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw was hostess host-ess to the Afternoon Bridge club given at her home, Monday, November Novem-ber 22. Ladies first prize was won by Mrs. Clark Kesler and Mrs. Frank Farmer received second. At seven o'clock a delicious hot dinner was served to the following ladies: Mesdames Mes-dames Farmer, Kesler, Fenrley, Kinney, Kin-ney, Newhart, Murdock, Evans and Mrs. Al Cline, an invited guest. Mrs. George Fernley was hostess to the Bridge club given at her home Saturday evening. The club prize was won by Mrs. Rolf Bellingmo and Mrs. Morely second prize. The long dinner table was artistically decorat- j ed in Thanksgiving ideas, and each j guest found her place by very cleverly hand painted place cards. Those present were Mesdames Charles Moore, Wm. Morely, Charles New-hart, New-hart, Charles Sloan, Frank Calloway, Mrs. J. R. Murdock and Mrs. Clark Kesler were invited guests. Mrs. Darl Quayle entertained the P. H. C. C club at her home Saturday j evening with three tables of "500." j High score was won by Mrs. Les , Clay, guest prize, Mrs. Cochrane, and j consolation was awarded to Mrs. R. D. McDonald. A midnight supper was served to the following guests:; Mesdames Clay, Cochrane, McDonald, R. Smith, Ford, Campbell, F. Levi, R. Neilsen. W. O. Carlson and Misses Ardath Johnson and Louise Levi. The absent Bridal shower in honor ! of Mrs. Gaylord Martin, on Monday ! evening was a very happy and suc-j suc-j cessful event. Cards were played, j Mrs. Jack Thiessen won first prize and Mrs. Nettie White, consolation, j The refreshments were dainty and j delicious. Music was enjoyed from ' the radio at the Carlson home, which was a great musical treat and appreciated appre-ciated by all. Mrs. C. T.
