Show Record Industrial Progress Looked for I in the Next Twenty-five Years j By CHARLES M. SCHWAB, Steel Corporation President. ! ' j The industrial development of the United States in the next twen ty-five years will surpass anything in the nation's history. The record of the steel business in the United States is the basis foi my prophecy. Forty -six years ago, when I started in the steel business, busi-ness, the country was using less than 1,000,000 tons of steel a year, end this year more than 50,000,000 tons will he made and used in nearly near-ly every line of endeavor. If I could be young again I would want to be young today, because I believe the business opportunities are greater than ever before. Business is always moving ahead, and the industrial development of the next twenty-five years will for that reason be greater than any we . ever have seen. This development will come from men like you, who are building up your own enterprises. The men from the workshops make up the true aristocracy of America. This industrial development will make America the workshop of the world. |
