Show NO ROUGE AT THE WHITE HOUSE Common sense continues to mark all that the public is allowed to know of the new residents at the White House. The newspapers have thought it news to herald that the mistress of the Executive Mansion docs not rouge, and that at a recent reception given by her there was a noticeable change in the complexion of the majority present a change in the direction of naturalcfass. Lipsticks, Lip-sticks, eyebrow pencils, rouge pots and all the other aids' to the deceptive decep-tive impressions seemed by common consent to be taboo. It would be interesting in-teresting to know how the result was achieved whether word was sent round, or whether it is an entirely en-tirely new crowd that now assembles at the White House. One hesitates to think what may be the truth, that Washington society is sufficiently snobbish and imitative to leave rouge alone of the First Lady of the Land leaves it alone. However that may be it is a good change and a good sign. A |
