Why great and glorious? Because they all say it is great and glorious. If you continue to say a thing hard enough you will soon believe It yourself your-self and if you believe it yourself and still continue to say it, you will soon make others believe it and they will commence to say It, and so it spreals and that is one thing which has made California great and glorious. We came to Utah from California, seven years ago, a perfect stranger to your climate, your habits, your products, your scenery, your advantages. advan-tages. You have never told the world or your next door neighbor that you had the best climate In the world, of of your splendid celery, or your abundant alfalfa seed corps ,or your unsurpassed scenery. We came largely large-ly out of curiosity and the first two questions you asked us almost made us sorry we came. First where did you come from? Southern California where we had lived and prospered for 22 years. Next Why im did you come to Utah? a question not so easily answered. Would a "native son of the golden west" have asked that question No. He would have said, "What can I do to help you get located? Or, I hope you become one of ua. To be sure all the time he will be sizing you up to see how big1 your roll is. But he will always extend a welcome and a glad hand. Another thing the Callfornlan always al-ways runs true to form. He is always a booster, never sees the drawbacks, never finds fault with the chamber of commerce, Is a firm believer in. .the A . value of advertising, is always fisfi-Ing fisfi-Ing for suckers, never promises boys prizes for raising pigs, or peas unless he is willnlg to pay for the prizes. In fact he Is a booster almost, to the point of exaggeration. Anjrway, their system got the people and the money. They haven's any better climate cli-mate than we have, our summers are perfect and so are our springs and no country in the world has a better or longer fall than we have, our winters win-ters are good old-fashioned ones, with a large percentage of bright mild days. California has beautiful winter, windy springs long hot summers sum-mers and no falls, with plenty of fog at any old tlmo. Utao cuuia.:e autis ua. First, because be-cause we are more familiar with California Cal-ifornia climate and scenery Second, because California s ' only state that comes anywhere near equalling Utah.
