Show HIGH SCHOOL NOTES Last week was a happy one, yes, and a busy one. The influence of the Christmas spirit manifested itself in many ways. In fact Santa's shower of gifts came prematurely as they arrived Friday morning. The presents pres-ents were unique and very timely. It seems that the 'jnlly old man,' true to tradition, knew just what each member of tho student-body needed. He even fathomed the unfathomable desires of Bennett, for he received the very gift he longed for most. Monday, Superintendent Day honored hon-ored us with a talk in student-body. Come again, we are always glad to have you w'th us. The great culminating event of the year was tho much talked of vaudeville. vaude-ville. The auditorium' was packed with an eaf,er and expectant crowd several minutes before time for the first curtain Who dared to- say that M.ilforcl doesn't support her school activities. The group Thursday Thurs-day night proves to all that she will and does suoport us royally. And right glad wan everyone that was there, for the entertainment was all and uv.rx mere, than we had expected expect-ed it to h. from the welcoming speech to the very end. There were so mans- star performers that It would tai:- a long time to tell about the charms of them all. Ora made everybody feel at home. Old Santa not only brought Christmas cheer to the irate family on the stage but to his entire audience. The Gondolier, carried one out to moonlight waters and old delightful serenade were role, every one delights in playing a role." "My Sweet Little Alice Blue Gown" was so picturesque. The frolicking frol-icking clowns gave us some good gymnastics. Little Miss Bonner gave us a delightful interpretation of a bit of child's world, the "Bathing "Bath-ing Eirl was real chic and vanip-ish, vanip-ish, but the star was the poor little girl who eats worms. Yes, Jack enjoyed en-joyed the role but we were intoxicated intoxi-cated with it. So the different roles went on now a laugh when , the two old! darkies told us a few of their lest "gags"; now a skip back. into e wonderland of childhood days, when the Christmas Fairy waved her wand. Even the toys were animated. The Christmas tree was a delight. A decided success financially and in every way the happy crowd of homo goers was ample testimony. The performers per-formers give evidence of the- splendid splen-did managership of Miss Dunenbury and Miss Cates. We thank you both heartily, but it gives evidence of a student-body spirit that is bound to make the Milford high school a better, bet-ter, more wide-awake and more wholesome place to live in. Lets make our New Year resolve, then, to make this year the best year that we have ever had. Then too, we wish you all a Happy Now Year. |
