Show OFF YEAR ELECTIONS T-he Republican majority in the present House, is 166. The election last November reduced that majority major-ity to 15. In 1912, when Wilson was elected, the Democrats electedl a House ma-iority ma-iority of 163, but by the election in 1914, that majority was reduced to 29. In 1880, when Garfield was elected the Republicans had a majority of 22 in the House but the 1882 election elec-tion gave the Democrats a majodity of 81. In 1884 Cleveland was elected and tho Democrats fot. a majority of 44, however in 1886 this was reduced to 17. In 1888 Ben Harrison and a House majority of 8 were elected, but in 1890 the Democrats carried the country coun-try by a big landslide, and elected the House by 147 majority. In 1892, Cleveland was again elected el-ected with a Democratic majority in the House of 91, yet the election of 1894 gave the Republicans a majority major-ity of 44. In 1S96 McKinley and a Republican Republi-can majority of 72 were elected, but in 1898 this majority was reduced to 3 0. The off year in his second term saw a still further reduction. In 1904, with Roosevelt was electedl el-ectedl an enormous Republican majority, ma-jority, but 1906 saw a loss of 60. In 1908 Taft and a majority of 39 were elected, but in 1910 the Democrats Demo-crats elected a majority. In the off year in Wilson's first term, the Democrats suffered a loss of 134, and in the off year of his second sec-ond term, they completely lost control con-trol of the House.
