Show mWcrosT HOUft MEETING Miss Holsinger, field representative of the Red Cross, was in Milford on Tuesday and Wednesday. A meeting was called Tuesday evening ev-ening at Dr. Hunter's office and Miss Mary Roper was elected secretary of the local organization, to succeed E. B. Jorgensen. The American Red Cross has pledged pled-ged itself to aid the European children chil-dren and the quota of the Pacific division, di-vision, consisting of Utah, Nevada. Arizona and California, is 75,000 layettes, lay-ettes, 15.000 sets of clothing for children from 1 to 5 years of age; 11,000 sets for girls, 5 to 14 years of age. The Milford chapter voted funds for materials for layettes which will be made by the girls' classes, under the" supervision of the M. W. C. A. The Relief society and Ladies aid have both signified their willingness to cooperate in this work The layettes lay-ettes will be sent, cut and ready for sewing, from the San Francisco division. di-vision. Plans are also under consideration for the establishment of Red Cross loan calls for the development of health work. I . |
