Her condition was reported as serious yesterday afternoon. The following follow-ing account of the accident is taken from the Beaver City Press: Miss Zoe Bowman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bowman, met with a very serious accident Saturday Satur-day evening while out riding with her friend, Mr. Walter Segeler of La Verkin. The young people were motoring out the Jackson county road and came suddenly to a load of wood standing in the middle of the road. Although not traveling at, a high rate of speed, but on account of having to turn so quickly to get around the load, the truck was turned turn-ed completely upside down, pinning them both beneath it, where they were forced to -stay until some one came along to their assistance. Mr. Segeler was able, with a good deal of effort, to hold the machine up, just enough to help keep the weight off from Miss Bowman and as soon as assistance came they were taken to Dr. Hopkins office. Miss Bowman's arms were both badly bad-ly cut and bruised, besides many other bruises. |
