The following account of the mysterious mys-terious shooting appeared in the Washington County News: Virgin, Sept. 7. Allen G. Burnham Burn-ham met with a very sad accident last Thursday. He had just stepped step-ped out of his house to ask Bishop Earl about the water, when he was shot through the stomach. Dr. Aiken was called immediately. He made an incision one and a half inches deep and could not locate the bullet and ordered Mr. Burnham taken to Cedar City. The doctor there found the bullet had gone through his liver. He is reported as doing better bet-ter at this writing. It was thought at first that it was one of three boys who were shooting at a target under un-der the hill who had fired the shot but it has been proved beyond a doubt that it wasn't the boy's shot that hit him, as it was not a .22 bullet that hit Burnham. The mystery mys-tery has not been solved yet. . |
