Show Children's Sports Feature of July 4th Celebration Here The Fourth of July was fittingly observed in and around Milford. At sunrise the national salute was fired: The program which had been arranged ar-ranged at the Orpheum theatre was not carried out owing to the fact that a number who were to take part were out of town. Monday practically all places of business were closed and the town took on a holiday aspect. At 1:30 in the afternoon the children's races and sports were held in front of the post office, quite a large crowd being be-ing present. All participants in the races were given small cash prizes, and to the winners went a free ticket to the Orpheum. The ball games Sunday and Monday Mon-day afternoons between the Milford Athletic club and Las Vegas resulted in victories for the Milford team. A matinee in the afternoon at the Orpheum proved an attraction for the younger folks. The dance and fireworks display at Hanging Rock Park attracted a large attendance both in the afternoon after-noon and evening.
