Show MILFORD VALLEY sC SWSNGS INTO A DEVELOPMENT ERA MANY DEALS ARE MADE IN HEAVER COUNTY DIRT PAST WEEK ACREAGES BOUGHT UP Professor J. E. Hickman, and J. E. Hickman, Jr., of Logan, have been here for the past few days making arrangements to develop 100 acres of choice pump land. Mr. Hickman is highly enthusiastic over the country, coun-try, and thinks that he will be able to interest some of his associates in the project. Will Stress Potato Crowing Eil. Schroeder has completed a deal, for some land in this section, and is ready to plant 80 acres to alfalfa al-falfa at the present time. He plans to develop approximately one thousand thous-and acres of land in the Milford Valley Val-ley this season, and hopes to make Milford Volley one of the leading certified seed potato sections in the country. Mr. Schroeder is an expert on potato growing, having had wide xperier.ee in different parts of the United States, and expresses himself as being willing to help any farmer who is interested in raising potatoes, and give them all the information he can with regard to irrigating, planting, plant-ing, etc. He has equipment which will put 100 acres of land under cul- -ivaiion in a (lay, anu mis equipment equip-ment will be shipped to Milford ready-to ready-to begin work within the next week. 7u'. Schroeder is in California now, arranging for the shipping of the equipment. Puts In Wells A. E. McGiiry, of Salt Lake City, has plans under way for the drilling of at lea-t six wells, and the equipment equip-ment of same, on a section of land, south of town. This land is to be developed de-veloped this season. W. H. Smith, on the South Tract, has just .chipped in four new pumping pump-ing plants, which will be installed immediately with the intention of putting in at least a section this spring. The Valley's Biggest Year Present developments and plans for further development in the. pumping pump-ing district, give every evidence of more activity on the Milford Project this season, and more land to be put under cultivation than there has been in the past five years. All of the new people coming in are highly pleased with the effort Dr. C. R. Parrish is making to help develop and build up this valley by the installation installa-tion of the new modern creamery, watch is now well under way, and producing large quantities of butter every day. Tin's creamery will have a great deal of influence in bringing new farmers into the valley this year. Roads To Be Improved D. E. Kirk, chairman of the committee com-mittee on improving roads in the South Milford pumping district, says that he is getting the finances lined up in good shape, and will be able :o have these cross roads put into rood condition, as soon as Fred Levi is able to get the County Supervisor here to do this work. |
