Show QUARTERLY CONFERENCE The quarterly conference of the reaver stake, convened last Satur-& Satur-& :y and Sunday. The first session a 2 p. m. on Saturday. Sat-urday. The Priesthood met at the school auditorium, while the ladies met at Park hall, where each had suitable programs rendered. At the ladies meeting, under the auspices of the Stake Relief society, a very interesting lecture on "Child Welfare" was given by Dr. Allred. The Sunday morning session wan given over to the different quorums of the priesthood, each grade being represented by a member who gave a talk on the duties of that priesthood, priest-hood, followed by an inspirational sermon by Apost'e George F. Richards Rich-ards of Salt Lake City. At the afternoon session very instructive in-structive talks were given by Elders John Lillywhite. who recently return fd from a mission to Holland, and R. S. Gray, Beaver Seminary teacher. Apostle Richards took up the remainder re-mainder of the time with instructions instruc-tions on Gospel principles. At this session the general and local authorities author-ities were presented and! unanimously unanimous-ly sustained, where also a vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Vern Oak-den Oak-den and her councilors of the Stake Primary association who had asked to be released; and Mrs. Mary Goodwin Good-win was chosen to fill the position. Elder Geo. H. Marshall of Miners-ville. Miners-ville. was presented and sustained as patriarch in the Beaver stake. President. Jos. F. McGregor .presided .pres-ided at the meetings, which were all fairly well a'tended. .with representatives represen-tatives from all the . wards in the take. The Stake choir under the direc-'ion direc-'ion of Prof. W. T. Morris, render-"d render-"d very beautif"! hymns and anthems appropriate for the occasion. 1 ' ' The Sunday evenin gsession under un-der the ouspices of the Mutual Improvement Im-provement association, was conduct ed by Hob-rt L. Pixton, of the Stake1 board, and President Chase Mur-;! dock directing the singing. j ; The main feature of the evening, i w:..s a very interesting talk on his travels in Europe, by Ralph S. Gray. ' with a mole quartet piano solo by i Mrs. Pixton, dialect story by Mr. Dev,ey4 community singing and the ' audience repeating the M. I. A. slogan, slo-gan, also a reading by Ilermoine Robinson.
