Show MRS. A. () SMOOT CALLED RY DEATH ' ' Provo, Jan. 18. Mrs. Zina Huntington Hunt-ington Smoot died this morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Coleman. 115 East Second South st. following an illness of several months. The direct cause of her death was paralysis caused from cerebral cer-ebral hemorrage. with which she was stricken about three weeks ago while visiting relatives in this city. Mrs. Smoot. who was the widow of State Senator A. O. Smoot. was born in Springville, the daughter of Don. C. and Malinda Singleton Huntington. Hunting-ton. She had lived in this city since 1S94. and had always taken an active ac-tive interest in the civic affairgs of the state. She was especially interested' inter-ested' in bettering working conditions for women and girls and was instrumental instru-mental in procuring the passage of th" measure establishing the state industrial commission and has al ways been connected with the commission. com-mission. Mrs. Smoot is survived by her daughter. Irma Smoot of Salt Lake; and the following stepchildren: A. O. Smoot, Mrs. Jacob Coleman. Mrs. LeRoy Dixon. Mrs. Wells E. Brim-hall, Brim-hall, all of Provo: and T. A. Smoot of Salt Lake. She is also survived by her father, who lives at Springville. Spring-ville. and one brother. Don. F , liv-intr liv-intr in Car.ado. Tribune. -Mrs. Smoot is well known here and was a personal friend of Mrs. Ot'o Steenbock. |
