Show DANCING Salt Lake, August 3 Relation of dancing to physical and mental development, de-velopment, the progress of the ballet bal-let and the necessity for standardization standard-ization of qualification of dancing teachers are among the subjects to be considered at the Western division divi-sion convention of the American Na-: Na-: tional Normal school, under the au-; au-; spices of the American National association, as-sociation, Masters of Dancing, to be held here August 11 to September 3. Reports received at the local offices offi-ces of the Utah Association, Masters of Dancing, under whose direction the convention will tbe held, indicate that no fewer than 100 representa- tives dancing masters and advanced j students will be in attendnce. Stefane Mascagne, of New York, a ballet master of international fame, will be here to take charge of this phase of the meeting. He will be assisted as-sisted by Miss Jessie Merriss, a New York danseuse of high reputation. Fred Christensen of Seattle, a leader lead-er in the art of ball room dancing, will have charge of the ball room work and discussion and L. P. Christensen Chris-tensen of Salt Lake, chairman of both the eastern and western divisions of the association, will give a series of talks on rythm and the relation of dancing to educational development. |
