Show SCHOOL OPENED MONDAY MORNING GOODTTENDANCE The Beaver County High School, in t-his city, began Monday morning with an enrollment of 98 pupils, who were very enthusiastic as to this ! year's work. On Wednesday the enrollment was 110, with fine prospects for a still larger number. It is the duty of the citizens of Milford to boost and encourage those students who are in and who should be in. The community and school have started with the proper spirit of enthusiasm, and If all stick to- together, it will be a real successful year, both at the institution and throughout the community. With a competent faculty, spacious rooms and up-to-date equipment, 4 if the young people of Milford and vicinity do not receive an education, it will be their own fault. Following is the list of instructors in the High School.. Mr. Izatt, A. C. U, Principal and Science instructor. Mr. Izatt was one of tHe instructors in our schools last year, and the fact that he was put at the head this year, is evidence of his ability. Miss Minnie J. Hughes, Mathematics Mathemat-ics and English, Davis County Miss Hughes was also here last year, and gained the reputation of being a very capable and popular teacher. Mrs. Vivian Duffin, English and Music, needs no introduction to the people here. She was one of the faculty fac-ulty two years ago, and made a splen did record. Mr. Albert Terry, His;ory and Physical Phy-sical Education, comes to the Milford Mil-ford schools well recommended and with ample experience. Mr. Allred, Music and Commercial Work, is from San Pete county, where he was considered an able instructor. Mr.' Harris, Woodwork, comes to us from Beaver and is classed as a competent instructor. Mrs. Joe Kinney, Domestic Arts, is a resident of Milford and is well equipped for her work the coming year. ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS The Elementary schools, under the direction of Prof. W. A.Joseph, principal, began smoothly and are now down to real class work. "The prospects," said Prof. Joseph, "are very encouraging for the coming year's wyk. The school has a corps of first-class first-class teachers as follows: Mr. W. A. Joseph, Principal sixth grade. Mr. E. D. Harris, fifth grade. Mrs. Susie Smith,, fourth grade. Miss Brisby, third grade. Miss Gillies, second grade. Miss Michelsou, first grade. |
