Mrs. George Sudberry of Lynndyl, who has been visiting her sister. Mrs. Nettie Davis, returned to her home Sunday evening. Miss Gladys Kirkman returned to her home in Provo, after spending the holidays with her sister, Mrs. Bert Mcintosh. Maurice Johnson was the host at a party at bis home Sunday evening to Misses Winnie Fernley, Berniece Lee, Ella Johnson, Helen Webb, Ruth Sterling, Miles White, Warren Atkin, Andy Winkle and LaVon Bird Games and dancing were enjoyed throughout the evening. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served by the host. Mr. and Mrs. John Mcintosh and family left Saturday to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. John Als-troru Als-troru of Tooele. i I Mrs. Roy Cottrell returned Wednesday Wed-nesday from California, where she went to attend the Golden weddi; of her grandparents. Miss Maude James of Manchester, England, arrived here New Year's to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Stan Fot heringham. Mr. and II. V. Doolittle and family fam-ily left Monday for Pomona, California Califor-nia in their auto, where they e to make their home. They sold their home before leaving to Mr. David. Hon J. F. California, to attend the funeral of Virginia's father, fath-er, Mr. Wm. Dobson. Mrs. T. B. Davis of Beaver, who has been spending" a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Cline, returned re-turned to her home Monday, accompanied accom-panied by her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nichols and children have returned from Lehi, where they went to attend the burial of Mrs. Xichol's brother, Frank Edwards. Ed-wards. John M. Snvder. Eugene Leavitt, E. II. Mills and Dr. O. H. Stone, very ve-ry prominent business men of Evan-ston, Evan-ston, Wyo., were here in Milford on Saturday last. They invested in Milford Mil-ford property. J Mr. J. E. Jensen of Provo. father! of Mrs. S. D. Atkin. died at the home cf his daughter, in Salt Lake City, on Wednesday last. Mr. Jenson owned Milford property and was well known in Beaver County as well as in ;he northern part of the state. Harold Bailey entertained at his home Monday evening with a birthday birth-day party. The evening was spent playing games. Guests present were: Ireta Atkin, Dorothy Neff, Lil- iin Stoker, Helen Ruth Ward, Ora edwards, Roy Carlson, Mariam Neff, j Warren Fernley, Keith Fernley, and Henry Reisner. Refreshments were served. j Friday evening of last week Mr. j Wm. Dobson Jr. received the sad ! news that his father had passed aw- I ay at the M. E. hospital in Los An- J geles. where he was operated upon for kidney trouble. The news came as a great schock to the son and with Mrs. Dobson left that afternoon for Los Angeles. Monday morning, word was received by .Mrs. Oscar Larson that the funeral services would take place at 3 o'clock Monday Mon-day afternoon and the store was closed clos-ed for the afternoon in honor of the deceased. The deceased was an old resident of Milford. Word has been received of the death of Dr. J. W. Christian of Beaver, Bea-ver, who after a short illness died at his home Sunday evening at the ripe old age of 99 years. Mr. Christian Chris-tian was well known throughout the county and state and a full account of his life will appear in our next issue. is-sue. Dr. and Mrs. Ramboldt spent a delightful day Sunday as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Houtzen at the Hum-holt Hum-holt mine. A delicious dinner was served by the hostess and the afternoon after-noon was spent in climibng the hills and visiting the mine. Mrs. Celistia Harris, mother of Mrs. Russell E. Parsons, has returned return-ed from a two week's visit at Beaver, Bea-ver, where she went to put her home in order for Prof. Tiejen of the sub-high sub-high school, who was married at Tooele Too-ele during the holidays. Mrs. Harris will remain here with her daughter until spring. There was no preaching services at the M. E. church Sunday morning or evening on account of the illness of Rev. Zook, who was suffering from an attack of rheumatism. He is much better at the present writing and expects to be able to attend to his duties this coming Sunday. Mr. and Mr. E. D. Zook, who have been visiting for the past three weeks with their son, Rev. Royden Zook and family, left Tuesday evening for their home at Brooks, Indiana. They will stop at Denver, Colorado for a visit with their daughter, Mrs. Mark Belcher. |
