Stan Tanner, of Salt Lake City is here in town visiing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eb. Tanner. Mrs. D. N. Hickman left Friday afternoon for Salt Lake City to undergo un-dergo an operation for appendicitis. Mrs. George Trent, who has been spending a week with Mrs. Phil Or-win, Or-win, returned Tuesday morning to her home in Islen. Mrs. Elizabeth Fotheringham, of Beaver is here as the guest of Mrs. Scott Tanner and Mrs. James Lang, for a few days. Mrs. Stanley Tattersall returned from Beaver Saturday afternoon, after af-ter spending a fe wdays visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hurst. Mr. and. Mrs. Horace Palmer and son Horace Jr. arrived here Thursday Thurs-day afternoon from Gloverville, New York to visit their mother and sister, Mrs. V. Palmer, and Mrs. Harry Ward They will have charge of the Palmer Ranch this summer. Mr. and Mrs. VanFleet have been in Milford this week, suffering from severe eoldis in the form of an epidemic epi-demic that(is raging in and around Salt Lake City. The Melody Five consisting of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Snow, Kathryn Tar-aar, Tar-aar, Felix Taraar Helen Davis and Duby Williams gave a very enjoyable ball here on last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tanner, of Snowflake, Arizona, who have been here visiting his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Tanner, are spend ing a few days at Beaver visiting relatives. rel-atives. Mrs. McKeon will represent rep-resent Victory Rebekah lodge No. 4 3 at the State assembly which convened con-vened the . first of the week. Saturday Mr. Lorenzo Beard came from Salt Lake. He went to Para-G-onnnb Rundav to. visit a few davs with friends, after which he will visit vis-it with relatives here before returning return-ing to Salt Lake. Mrs. H. A. Larson entertained a few friends at her home Saturday. Lunch was served to Mrs. Abe Fotheringham, Foth-eringham, Mrs. Wade Coon, Mrs. S. W. Stoker, Mrs. Christy Lee, Mrs. A. Johnson and Mrs. E. Jones. A very pleasant afternoon was spent. Rev. Zook, after swearing out a search warrant, went to the Carnival Carni-val grounds Saturday afternoon last, and in company with sheriff, marshal marsh-al and justice of the peace, found the company in possession of stolen property. The household effects had been taken from the Methodist church property, just north of the church. Three of the carnival men had entered the locked door and had helped themselves to what they needed. One of the men was taken before Attorney Woodbury with evidence evi-dence found in his possession. The carnival was of course held up in its process of moving out of town, until settlement could be made. The man-aper man-aper seemed willing to pay damages and save further embarrassment. He ipaid the Reverend besides part of the properly returned and the case ! was dropped. If you want to talk to a real far- mer not an agriculturalist just get hold of W. F. Gospill. Marrian, of the Western Union Telegraph Tele-graph office and Wilford Tanner at dinner Wednesday evening at his home on North Stoddard avenue. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Slaughter of Salt Lake City, who have recently returned from a California trop, stopped off in Milford to visit relatives, rel-atives, Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths and family. Royden Zook, pastor of the M. E. church, left Sunday night for Salt Lake City, where he will attend the Quarterly conference of the M. E. church. Miss Arleen Wilden of Beaver, who was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Van Hickman Friday of last week, attending the Jazz orchestra dance, returned home Saturday morning. The school attendance of the Philippines Phil-ippines is growing so rapidly that there is a constant demand for more American teachers. The principal demand de-mand just now is for fully qualified teachers to teach high school classes. Ardath Johnson and all th rest of the kids spent all their money for Candy Sunday and went motoring in the little yellow Ford out to the hills, where they spent a delightful time. The Milford choir furnished the singing for the Quarterly conference held at Beaver Sunday. They received receiv-ed a great applause and it was remarked re-marked by several that the Milford ward hadl them beat in regard to singing. There was the largest attendance atten-dance at this conference ever held. About 25 per cent of the entire'1 membership mem-bership of Beaver county were there. Mrs. S. L. Harrington, formerly of here, who has been spending the winter in San Francisco, California, with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Em erson, stopped off Sunday morning on her way to Salt Lake City, to place flowers on the grave of her son, H. D. Harrington, leaving again that evening to visit 'her daughter at Salt Lake City. |
