Show MOSCOW MINE IN PROMISING ORE ON 14 000-FOOT LEVEL Outlook for the mineral districts adjacent to Milford are immeasurably immeasur-ably improved by the exposure of fome highly promising ore showings on the 1400 level of the Moscow Silver Sil-ver Mines1 company. For the last year operations of this company have been closely watched by mining men, since this activity presents one o the most interesting pieces of exploration explo-ration being done in the state. In past years the Moscow mine has been highly productive fn the upper levels. The work now being undertaken on the 1400 level represents repre-sents the deepest development eve done in the area widley known for its remarkable surface mineralization mineraliza-tion and promises to settle the question ques-tion whether the ore bodiesof the district dis-trict reach to depth. Recently Manager Garrat Wilkin received the report from the mine by telephone that the No. 1 crosscut being be-ing driven west to cut the silver bed so productive in upper horizons, had two feet of high grade ore showing in the face. The ore a sulphide carrying car-rying considerable chalcopyrite, bor-nite bor-nite and galena, is the richest yet found in the mine. Moreover, it has been followed for a sufficient distance dis-tance to favor the opinion that when the roluble silver limestone is reached reach-ed an extensive bed of mineral should be entered. The Silver bed should be encountered encount-ered almost any round of shots, according ac-cording to Mr. Wilkin, when more data concerning the significance of the strike will be forthcoming. From forty to sixty feet beyond the silver bed the back vein of limestone, also a heavy producer in the old workings, work-ings, will be entered. What makes the new development doubly promising is that the rich ore occurs, according , to information from the mine, in a porphyry intrusion intru-sion being followed- to the limestone. Furthermore in two other places on 'he 1400 level at points removed from the objective silver lime good ore measuring from six inches to three feet wide is showing. Mineral Miner-al Survey. |
