Influenza throughout the country prevented a full expression expres-sion at the polls and in some of our western states, blizzards and general gen-eral inclement weather also had Its effect. The result for congress was so close for several days that both claimed the majority, but the actual ac-tual results may now be observed as testifying to the sentiment of the country. Regardless of these political Hurries, which create interest and excitement, and often much good humor, the business of the country will be little affected. The great question of the war and its final phase which must mean the surrender surren-der of Germany, is engrossing the public mind; and we shall see to it that the culmination is such as shall forestall any conditions that may mean a reuitition of it. Great problems confront the Administration, Ad-ministration, and perhaps the greatest will be the economic readjustment read-justment after peace comes and all the nations engaged settle down to the business of constructive Industry. In-dustry. There is much to do in war-torn Europe In the way of rehabilitation re-habilitation and our country shall lend a hand and contribute worthily worth-ily to mankind.
