Show Now that the political battle Is over and the victor and vanquished have gone their several ways, it doesn't make so much difference after af-ter all who won in the light of the momentous events that lie directly ahead. We are anxious for this war to end so that Peace may have Her opportunity op-portunity to hide the scars of conflict. con-flict. And we are hopeful of its early ending, and await those young heros who left our fireside just a few short months ago. Some of them, ala, will never come back to loved arms that are outstretched at the threshold of home. But the glory is theirs Immortal glory. They died that those who may return, re-turn, and we who remained behind, might enjoy that reunion of hearts which should thrill the glad holiday holi-day at hand with a new significance. So after all political battles at this time don't amount to much. They are mere incidents. They are as motes in the sunbeams of our hopes. The greater battle has been fought and won, and the results re-sults are uppermost in our, minds, because they will bring, we trust, an ever lasting peace, and they will return re-turn to us those whom we gave as sacrifice: or leave them to enrich the soil of France in the hallowed name of Liberty.
