A Cool Reception A "cool reception" will be afforded those who auend the social to begiveu by the Epworth League, in the M. E. church on the evening of August 31st, although everybody will be heartily welcomed. This apparent contradiction contradic-tion of statements is due to the nature of the program, which is more or less of a mystery but which will prove a "money's worth" affair. The NEWS will give a year.-t subscription as a prize in one of tlie novel contests to be carried out. A large attendauce is desired. A pmail entrance fee of fifteen fif-teen cents will be charged to defray expenies of importing the ice from the Arctic region.
