Show LOCAL BRIEFS Miss E. N. Miller of Chicago, spent last week in Milford. James W. Haskins of Delta, was In Milford this week. Miss Estelle Baldwin of Eureka was in Milford on Monday. Roy Cowan was in Milford again this week. H. S. Gloeckner and wife returned from LosAngeles Monday last. Miss Edna Beck of Provo, was the guest of Mrs. Geo. Atkin for several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. D. States of Eureka were in Milford on their return trip from their summer outing. Geo. Atkln was confined to his room this week with a severe illness. ill-ness. Mrs. Minnie Palmer will soon leave for her home in Seattle Washington. Wash-ington. J. Huff, representative of the Western Loan & Building Co., spent several days in our city this week. L. A. Miner of Nephi, is a candidate candi-date for nomination for district judge of the fifth judicial district. C. D. Penniston of the Delta Land & Water Co. went to Salt Lake City last Saturday night on business. John Shier of Caliente. was in Milford this week. Mr. Shier was formerly in the drug business in this city. Born to Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Crone, a son, at Salt Lake City. Friday, August 23, 1918. Mother and baby are doing nicely. j Howard Sorey of )the Beaver Press left here on the early morning morn-ing train Sunday for Camp Pike. Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. A. Clyde of Beaver were in Milford Wednesday. Mr. Clyde is manager of the telephone offices in both places. F. P. Fleming and wife have returned re-turned to Milford to reside. Anderson of Beaver shipped a carload of honey out of Milford about a week ago for the soldiers in France. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Korns entertained en-tertained Howard Sorey and Miss Hattie Whornham, librarian at the Beaver City library, at dinner last Saturday evening. We learn that K. C. Rupert, formerly form-erly telephone exchange manager in Milford, has been transferred from Pocatello to Twin Falls, Idaho. Attorney Chas. T. Woodbury spent Thursday in Beaver on business. Harry Yeager and wife and Mrs. Yeager's sister, who is visiting them, started out Tuesday to hunt sage hens. They returned Wednesday evening. Chas. Erb returned to Salt Lake City Monday night after spending a few days in Milford. The following program will be given in connection with the regular Sunday afternoon sacramental services ser-vices at the L. D. S. church: Piano Iduet Winnie Fernley and Lillian Tanner; Reading by E. B. Jorgensen. Bert Ryssman, who has a ranch near Malone, will leave September 3 with twenty-one others of this county for camp. He is hoping to be sent from there to the aviation camp at Riverside, Cal., as he has passed the examination for that department. de-partment. Mrs. W. R. Martin was happily surprised on the 19th by her sister Mrs. J. V. Philpot and family of Salt Lake City who came by auto. After spending two days here Mrs. Martin accompanied them to Joseco, Nevada, to visit another sister, Mrs. Matthews, Mat-thews, where they all enjoyed the beautiful mountain home and the delicious things to eat. |
