Pearson went to Caliente last evening. ' Remember Burns & Bird Co.'s big sale which starts next week. Mrs. H. M. Gourley went to Salt Lake last week for a visit. Mrs. S. L. Harrington is visiting her sister in Beaver. Mrs. W. F. Cottrell will go to Salt Lake City tonight to attend M. E. conference. Henry Gloeckner, father of H. Gloeckner, is spending a few days In Milford. Mrs. Johansen came down from Newhouse Thursday to attend the War Mothers' meeting. Miss Leone Fotheringham of Beaver Bea-ver has visited with Miss Marie Schow part of the past week. Mrs. Christy Lee and children returned re-turned last week from several weeks visit at their old home in Elsinore. Mrs. B. F. Clinton left Saturday evening for Los Angeles, where she will visit for awhile. E. Fouts and daughter went to Salt Lake via auto, where Miss Foutz attended institute this week. She will teach the coming year. Larger shipments of ore were made from Beaver county during the first half of 191S than during the latter half of 1!U7. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bird left Tuesday Tues-day night for Gunnison. Utah, to see Mrs. Bird's brother, who is leaving for the army camp. Morrison Hickman of Richfield and James Hickman of Manti were here last week to attend the funeral of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Hickman. A collision between two motor cars last Sunday evening at about 10 o'clock near Acoma caused the death of August Modena and injured section Foreman Roberts of Crestline Crest-line and Signal Maintainer Calloway Mrs. L. D. Brooks and little son Randall returned to Milford Saturday Satur-day night, after several months spent at the home of Mrs. Brooks' parents in Long Beach, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. F. Hickman entertained en-tertained all their children at dinner last Saturday evening. This is the first time all the children have been at home together for over a year. A farewell party was given for Dr. and Mrs. C. F. Swanson on Wednesday Wednes-day evening athe Van Fleet farm. About twenty-five guests were present pres-ent and a very enjoyable evening was realized by all present. Mrs. C. F. Swanson accompanied her husband to Salt Lake City Thursday evening, where the doctor went for final examination prior to leaving for the service. Mrs. Swan-sou Swan-sou will return to Milford Saturday. Mrs. W. W. Murray and son Neville Nev-ille of Malone are spending today in Milford. Mrs. Murray will leave to- night for Salt Lake to attend institute. insti-tute. She expects to teach in Carbon Car-bon county the coming year. !
