After speeches by W. A. Joseph and Henry Daker. sereral vacant lots in town were offered for the use of those who could cultivate more land. Mrs. D. I. McKnight assisted on the program by singing "The Star-Spangled Banner." The regular weekly assembly of the high school student body was held last Friday, when, in addition to the usual program of readings and music, considerable business was transacted. Arrangements were made for a school paper, to be read as a part of the Friday program. Le-Roy Le-Roy Smith was elected 'temporary editor. Plans were alo made for the completion o the work on the j school grounds as soon as the plumb-! plumb-! ing in the school building is install-! install-! ed. and the trenches tilled, j The members oi the MinorsYillo I school faculty had a' most enjoyable horseback ride and picnic last Satur-jtlay. Satur-jtlay. when they spent the day in the bills north of town.
