Show A LECTURE OX CHRISTIAX SCIF.XCE Mrs. Matilda Fotheringham of Beaver introduced the speaker of the evening at the Christian Science lecture lec-ture last Saturday night iu the following fol-lowing well chosen words: Friends, this courtesy or Introducing Introduc-ing the lecturer of the evening has been extended to me by the local Christian Scientists of Milford. This feast of the Bread of life and love has been prepared for you and me and all mankind, and by the representative repre-sentative audience before us I bespeak be-speak of the lecturer an appreciation of our efforts. The Bible tells us tnat Spirit blesses man, but man cannot tell whence it cometh. By it the sick are healed, the sorrowing are comforted com-forted and the sinning are reformed. These are the effects of one universal God, the invisible good dwelling in eternal science or knowledge of God. These are some of the comforting conditions of the hour. To those' of little faith in the tried researches after af-ter health and happiness to all who would know the truth that makes men free, Christian Science bears a t message of vital importance. It tells us not of a man-made God, but of a God-made Man, perfect in health and holiness and knowing no other sovereignty sov-ereignty than that of love. I will now introduce to you the able expounder of the truths of Christian Science, Dr. Francis J. Fluno, member of the board of lectureship lec-tureship of the Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass. |
