Show WrATER CONDITION BETTER It is stated that there is considerable more water in the reservoir of the Beaver County Irrigation Company now than last year. There are practical men on the job of water distribution who are not afraid of work or of getting their hands soiled when there is plenty of water to wash them. The plan for distribution seems to be meeting meet-ing with approval generally and the few people left on the project are optimistic of the results to be obtained this year. Water was turned into the canals this week. The alfalfa is growing the past warm days so rapidly that you can see the difference in it from day to day. Let there be no waste of water. It is too precious to waste. Any man who cannot use the water given him should immediately have the amount cut down to a head that he can handle with out waste. When this supply is finally equalized there will be enough to go around. At Beaver City people are already beginning to wonder if they will be able to keep' their land above water long enough to raise a garden. The place is water-logged. Wells fill to the top and overflow, while cellars have to be abandoned to the rising under-: flow. Then there is Puffer Lake up in the mountains, whose waters might be some day utilized for land develop-: ment. This natural reservoir contains more water than the reservoir, and its natural outlet flows this side of the big mountain range. j |
