Show o SHOULD HAVE COUNTY ORGANIZATION . Beaver City, Milford and Minersville have formed patriotic organizations, which was an excellent thipg to do. But without a central county organization to keep in touch with the activities of the various local organizations there will be a lot of lost motion and some friction in the machine. Every part of this machine above all others, should work . in perfect harmony. There should be county-wide team work. Already there has been an incident inci-dent to illustrate the point. Beaver City was the leader of the patriotic demonstration in this county. Her citizens citi-zens have furnished most of the enthusiasm as well as most of the recruits thus far. Beaver's organization is named the Citizen's Patriotic League. This group of workers decided that a patriotic and historical costume ball accompanied by a program of tableaux and music would be fine for a county celebration at the county -seat and went to work to produce it. They notified other places in the county of the fact. The Milford officers of the organization or-ganization of the same general character which, by the way, was organized largely through the efforts of the Beaver Bea-ver citizens, in some manner arrived at the same thought for the same date May Day. While there is some hope that one or the other of the local organizations will change the date of their celebration and all may yet work in unity of purpose, had there been a central county body with which to communicate and to direct, the conflict of dates would not have occurred. n |
