Show 300-Ot'NCK SILVER STRUCK IN BEAVER MINE; , LEONORA CAMPAIGN Returning from Beaver county, Sol Snyder and John Matson report that the old camps down there are reviving reviv-ing and that a lot of mining is going on in all parts of the county. Mr. Matson is' president of the Leonora, where deeper work is being carried on in two places. The Paloma is loading a car of high grade ore to be shipped probably this week, a new strike has been made in the Red Warrior and the Moscow is developing develop-ing some big ore bodies on its deepest level, the 1400, is their report. re-port. The Leonora is drifting at a point 1600 feet northwesterly from the main shaft. This is about 500 feet under ground. The drift is under the old stopes and in the next fifty or sixty feet it is expected to reach the ore bed. Work is also being carried on at a point 1000 feet east. This is on a contact between the monzonite and limestone. Here a shaft is being sunk on a vein. It is down thirty-five feet. Some quartz and considerable iron are already coming in. One surface sample showed 26 per cent lead, 7 ounces silver Jnd 14 per cent zinc. A raise will be sent up to cut a bed in another an-other part of the property. This was the recommendation of Mr. Snyder. The ore from the Red Warrior strike runs high in lead and silver. Some samples showed bromides and assayed 3 00 ounces. This was from a streajk eighteen inches to two feet, is the report. The news of the strike caused quite a stir in Milford.: Herald-Republican. |
