Grace Portcrfield Polk, eminent I composer, who has established in the small city of Greenwood, Ind., the ' Greenwood Community Hou?e" where the struggling unknown composers ! may occasionally meet and exchange ideas with the veterans and success-' success-' ful members of the profession. In 'this manner Mme. Polk hopes to cre-I cre-I ate a center for composers, and there-1 there-1 bv to foster and help the composition I of masterpieces expressing the Ideas land ideals of the people of today, and to make America a real "Land of ! Song" by means of yearly conventions.
