Show lit M ST1. G AGR ICL LTURi: in many ways banks are helping farm development and linanee farmers far-mers who are increasing production. Many western banks publish monthly mon-thly bulletins advocating cooperation coopera-tion and community movements. The First National bank of Bend, Oregon, issues a monthly news booklet book-let for the benefit of the farmers and stockmen of the section. In other communities the bank is helping tobetter hard conditions and seems anxious to make the farmers problems its own. While livestock occupies a large amount of space in the bank bulletins, bulle-tins, interest is shown in a wide diversity di-versity of other topics. Potato growing, the use of sunflowers sun-flowers as silage, information about cream tests and critical discussions of various kinds are included. The most significant thing about the publications is the extreme practical prac-tical usefulness -to farmers for whom it is intended. A more practical way of yoking bank and farm together for public j service would be hard to find. |
